2011 January Florida Dinner Highlights

Our annual January Florida dinner was held at the GOLDEN CORRAL on route 27 in Leesburg, FL. We gathered in a reserved room about 1:00 pm with folks having a chance to socialize and tell stories.  The 46 attendees were dominated by members from the Pen-NY Mixers and Fingerlakers. Honored guests included Ed & Lori Hoag.  (Ed is an FMCA Northeast Area Vice Presidents).

Being a buffet, food was plentiful, great variety and excellent tasting. After folks got their first course, Tom Roule asked for a moment of silence for the passing of Mary Lucas, Lucille Davenport and Carol Shafer's son-in-law. Ed Hoag briefed us regarding upcoming plans for the Northeast Area.  (Some other posts on our blog describe these events). We expressed pleasure to hear Bob Schoonover is doing better after his stroke and Charlie Kline is healing from his first carpal tunnel surgery.

Stories and chat were plentiful. In spite of all our attempts, the food was still abundant as 4 pm approached.  So, those there finally gave up for other activities (including a cruise by the Wordens and Sprouts).

Hoping to see each other again soon, all departed full.
