September, 2009 Rally Highlights

Our September rally was held at the Marathon convention center with Jim & Sherry Miller as Wagon Masters and Rose & Bill McGlynn doing a great job assisting while many others helped where needed. (REMEMBER THIS IF YOU ARE WORRIED ABOUT BEING A WAGON MASTER).

When Jim & Sherry are Wagon Masters, there is creative food, a variety of things to do and a full schedule. The 16 coaches attending got to visit a tractor museum, the opening of an apple cider mill, an Alpaca Farm and some quilt shops (surprize!!). For food, we had a fish fry using JIM'S caught fish, omelettes in bag, a catered dinner, a breakfast supplied by the Marathon Senior citizens and a continental breakfast.
Having followed visiting the Bean Festival in Pennsylvania with the Fingerlakers, we are spending this week on the treadmill.
The highlight of the meeting was reelection of existing officers.

By the way, in spite of the busy schedule, Jim managed to get his battery converter/charger repaired with the help of Larry Kotar and Nelson Hansen.

Stupidity Award Winner

When a man attempted to siphon gasoline from a motor home parked on a Seattle street, he got much more than he bargained for. Police arrived at the scene to find a very sick man curled up next to a motor home near spilled sewage. A police spokesman said that the man admitted to trying to steal gasoline and plugged his siphon hose into the motor home's sewage tank by mistake. The owner of the vehicle declined to press charges saying that it was the best laugh he'd ever had.
