The June Pen-NY Mixer Rally was held at the Penn Yan, NY. ViewAfterSave airgrounds. Our hosts were Nelson & Neena Hansen, Jim & Sharon Fairbrother, Phil Liberatore & Lury Wallenbeck, Paul & Celeste Page. There were thirty coaches, with nine arriving Thursday and parking at the Penn Yan bowling alley until we could get into the fairgrounds on Friday morning.
Friday started with three o-clock wine and cheese (in the dark) due to a power outage because of a storm, the bang of thunder and torrential rain. Fish fry at the American Legion. We went in smaller groups to avoid a long wait. Back to the fairgrounds for birthday cake and ice cream provided by Sylvia for Ed’s seventieth. Camp fire and card games followed. The bang continued into Saturday with high temps expanding the balloon decorations until they blasted off like gun shots, one at a time throughout the day. Several visited the windmill and local shops. There was some horse activity and coach maintenance, a craft taught by Celeste Page. Dinner was catered by the Steve Owens’ family.
Entertainment was provided by the Crooked Lake Fiddlers. It began at 6:45. A desert buffet was provided at intermission. They continued to play until dark, finishing with AMAZING GRACE.
Sunday AM brought the sun and a delicious breakfast by Owens.
