put the EAA hanger at the Elmira Airport down for having another rally there in

Note from President Sherry Miller
Hi Everyone,
The Pen-NY Mixers has a complete slate of officers for the
2015 camping season. Now that we have
officers, we need to fill in our rally dates for next summer. What good is a RV chapter if we have no
place to meet? Rallies can be big and
busy or small and cozy and anywhere in between. We've had catered meals or relied on the best chefs in the area
by having dish-to-pass meals. We've dry
camped or gone to campgrounds; we could even meet in someone's backyard. New places are great, but we certainly can revisit
favorite old ones that we haven't been to in a while. But, we need hosts to put it all together. If you've thought you might like to host a
rally, but aren't sure you can, contact me!
I'll give you support and hook you up with others to help. A good way to learn how is to work with a
veteran who has done one. If you
haven't hosted a rally recently, you could consider taking your turn and do one
again. Ask someone who hasn't ever been
on a rally committee to help you. If
everyone took a turn, it would happen once every three seasons if only two or
three couples work together. It is
rumored that we may have two rallies in the works, already, and I would really
like to see a regular May rally to kick off the 2015 year. Call me or send an email to let me know when
you want to have a rally. I'm looking
forward to this camping season and hope you all are too.
We also need to increase our
membership. That would spread out rally
responsibilities even further. New
blood brings new energy and ideas. If you know someone who has a motor home,
invite them to a rally so they can see what it is all about. They don't have to
be a member of FMCA to attend one rally.
I agreed to accept the
nomination of President because I didn't want to see us disband, but I need
your help. The Pen-NY Mixers needs your
help. I hope to see you there!
Sherry
PS: Jim and I would like to host the January dinner
get-together. Since this is the last
newsletter before that date, I need to know who might want to attend. Call me or email to let me know. Once we know if there is any interest, we'll
set it up in as central location as possible for all of us. Have a safe and healthy winter season if I
don't see you then.

Tom Z reports from Cincinatti
Hi,
I am currently in a board meeting, and asked for dates. This event (2016 FMCA International) has been approved by the GB.
Chris Lust just told me it looks like around the end of July. At this time a confirmed date is not available.
If I hear more before I leave Saturday (October 18) I will let you all know.
Respectfully,
Tom Ziobrowski

Officer Candidates
Several folks have worked hard to put together a slate of candidates for next year. The election will be held at the September 28th dinner. The dinner is scheduled for Sunday this year.
Tomasso's does not serve breakfast on Monday - probably eliminating our morning after get together. It may be more of a challenge for us traveling longer distance to make the dinner, too.
Article 7, Section 1 of the Bylaws allows mail ballots, but there is no formal plan for one this time. But, if you send one in, it might be accepted.
Here are the tentative candidates:
PRESIDENT: Sherry Miller, Ed Plaisted
VICE PRESIDENT:
SECRETARY: Sylvia Plaisted
TREASURER: Walt Linden
NATIONAL DIRECTOR: Walt Linden
ALTERNATIVE NATIONAL DIRECTOR: Sharon Roule

Harborfest Update
We are now ready to send out the Itinerary and registration for the FMCA Oswego Harborfest Rally 2014! While the music acts are not known yet I will pass it along when it is announced. Last year they had a fantastic lineup and we look forward to learning this years performers. I have been told that there will be tall ships this year. The trolley should be picking us up again and Mayor Gillen will be welcoming our group.
We have added a full breakfast on Sunday with pancakes, sausage and eggs. I will be busy fishing this spring as we went through 75 pounds of fillets in 2012. We are working with local vendors and RV suppliers on door prizes. Camping World will be sponsoring the Sunday dinner again and Burdick's RV will be sponsoring the coffee hours allowing us to keep the price unchanged from 2012. We already have 6 paid registrations so we are expecting a good turn out and welcome everyone. Please tell a friend about the rally and bring them.
For our friends making a long trip to the northeast and Northeast Area members wanting more to do, the new officers of the Northeast Motorhome Association led by Tom Ziobrowski have rejuvenated the NE Area Rally and it will be held in Essex Junction, VT from July 17-21, 2014. They promise a great rally and then you can spend a day along the St Lawrence Seaway and arrive in Oswego for the Wednesday fish fry. National FMCA President Charlie Adcock will be at NEAR and then coming to Oswego where he will greet the group and take questions. Tom Z. will join us Friday if you miss him in Essex Junction.
Thursday will have the cocktail and hors d'oeuvre party featuring rum drinks from our trip to duty free St Thomas. The music starts at seven and runs until Sunday at 5.
The fishing in 2012 was incredible and we hope to also get salmon in 2014. Please sign up for the fishing ASAP if you want to go. We hope to fill two boats again this year.
If you have any questions please call or email.

Florida February get together
For the past several years, we have gathered at the Golden Corral in Leesburg, FL for a western NY snowbird get together.
This year the restaurant in Leesburg closed right after Christmas. So, we had to find an alternative, moving to the Golden Corral in Lakeland, FL. It turned out to be a great alternative.
53 folks from the PenNY Mixers, Fingerlakers, guests and the Long Islanders (thanks to president Eleanor Rizzi) showed up around 1:00 PM. (Some were REALLY early). We had a room for the whole afternoon and many folks stayed, ate and caught up on stories.

Walt Linden Arrives in Florida
As weather along the Gulf coast deteriorated, Walt and Beryl Linden rapidly headed along the shore to Florida bringing the rain and 40-50 degree temperatures.
In spite of that, 16 of us welcomed them as they organized lunch at Osaka's Japanese Steak House in Leesburg. This has been an event every time they were in the area the last few years.

January Northern Get together
We planned to attend the January north get together, but the weather forecast indicated we might be wise to get out of New York early. Below is a note from Barb Kotar with highlights.
Glad you made it to Fla. safe and sound. It was a good decision leaving when you did. We woke up Sat. with snow and it was snowing but supposed to quit by 10 a.m. That didn’t happen as it was snowing most of the day. I figured that I would have cancelations but no one canceled. We had 17 which is not bad considering the weather and most are south.
