June 25th Anniversary Rally

Remember, we have until April 1st to get one of the 30 sites reserved for us at Campbell Campground for the June, 25th anniversary rally.
  • You have until April 1, 2016 to make a reservation to get in those 30 spots.  After that, the manager will let them go, 1st come, 1st served and not necessarily Pen-NY Mixers.  If you reserve later you might not be close by.
  • You can cancel up to one week before if something comes up to prevent you from coming.
  • If you know of any retired Pen-NY Mixers who might like to attend, I need their addresses as we plan to send invitations.
  • If you want to make your reservation, call 607-527-3301 and mention the June Pen-NY Mixer rally.  Daily fee is $36.00, but we will get a group discount of 10%/ night or 15% if we have 15 reservations.  The remaining rally fee will be announced as soon as we can finalize the plans.

President's January message

Things are moving forward in our plans for next year's rallies.  The fairgrounds in Waterloo has agreed to let us use a building for group activities while there.  The Memorial Day committee is finalizing their list of activities and I should have a schedule within the month.  We will have a $10.00/day parking fee and once I have a schedule I will be able to determine a rally fee.  I believe it will be a four day rally, dry camping.  Things going on include a parade, fireworks, car show(including Woodies which were originally made in Waterloo), arts and crafts, food vendors, horse and wagon tours, music, contests, and a large living history exhibition.  If you get bored, the Women's Rights National Historic Park is near-by, you are not far from the Fingerlakes M all, and there are several museums in the area.  If you go towww.waterloony.com and click on Memorial Day, they have a lot of information about the event.  The site is currently under construction while they update it from last year's program.

Our 25th Anniversary week end will be June 17-19 at Camp Bell Campground in Campbell, NY.  You will need to make your own reservations by going online to www.campbellcampground.com  for the next month or so.  After that you can call 800-587-3301.  You need to mention that you are with the Pen-NY Mixers rally.  There will be a comment section online for you to add that info.  You need to do this by April 1 to be with the group.  After that date, the reservations open up to first come first served and you might be placed in a different part of the campground.  You are welcome to come in a day early if you wish.  If we get more than 10 coaches, we will get a group discount.

We do not have a rally scheduled for July or August.  I have just received an email from a new RV park located on the St. Lawrence shipping channels just 3/10 of a mile from Rt. 81 and the Thousand Island Bridge.  They will give a discount for FMCA groups.  Check out www.swanbayresort.com and let me know if you would like to host it.

We are going to the National FMCA rally Aug. 3-6 in Massachusetts.  They are looking for volunteers to help.  Let me know if you plan to attend so that we could arrange to park near each other, and if you'd like to volunteer.
& nbsp;
Walt Linden has invited the Pen-NY Mixers to a Fingerlaker rally in Avon, NY on August 12-14, 2016 if the weather holds.  This is during the corn festival in Avon.

Our September rally will be at the Wings of Eagles Discovery Center September 22-25.  Pat and Howie are the wagon masters.

Lastly, I have contacted Olive Garden Restaurant at the mall in Horseheads and they will let us have a room for a group gathering.  I am thinking January 29 around 1:00 pm.  Please let me know if you are interested.  If I get a good response, I will set things up.

Hope to hear from you!

Pen-NY Mixer President's Message

PEN-NY MIXERS PRESIDENT'S MESSAGE
NOVEMBER, 2015
The holiday season is upon us and many of you are either already relocated to your winter destination or will soon be on your way.  For those of us who stay in NY, we have been experiencing a very mild transition into winter with temperatures well above normal.  We have had two snowfalls, but nothing that stayed.
We haven't scheduled a winter luncheon for us Northerners yet.  But, don't despair!  If any of you who are staying have or find a new place to eat, please ask them if they could accommodate a group of 20+ or so to order off the menu on a Saturday afternoon sometime in January.  Then give me a call (607-898-4626) after December 11th and we can get it set up.  I don't know about good places in the Elmira area and going to check it out is difficult for us.  We are over an hour away and really don't know where to look when we get there.  Then we usually have to sample the food...  I do know of places in my area, but we're on the eastern edge of our membership and it would be too far for a lot of people for just an afternoon.  If I could get a suggestion from someone, it would be a tremendous help.
Memorial Day at Waterloo is on!  The celebration runs from Friday, May 27 through Monday, May 30.  People could come in to park Thursday afternoon and leave Monday.  Dry camping,    4 nights=$40.00 parking fee.  We will have access to a covered building with electric in the building for group gatherings, but the activities in town might limit the amount we'll have.  Possible a dish to pass Thursday night and coffee hours in the am.  Our fall schedule has been BUSY and we haven't sat down to do major planning.  More info will follow in time.
June will be our 25th anniversary party at Camp Bell Campground in Campbell, NY.  I have reserved 30 spots, but more might be available, just not necessarily located close by.  You have until April 1, 2016 to make a reservation to get in those 30 spots.  After that, the manager will let them go, 1st come, 1st served and not necessarily Pen-NY Mixers.  If you reserve later you might not be close by.  You can cancel up to one week before if something comes up to prevent you from coming.  If you know of any retired Pen-NY Mixers who might like to attend, I need their addresses as we plan to send invitations.  If you want to make your reservation, call 607-527-3301 and mention the June Pen-NY Mixer rally.  Daily fee is $36.00, but we will get a group discount of 10%/ night or 15% if we have 15 reservations.  The remaining rally fee will be announced as soon as we can finalize the plans.
Here's hoping you all have a healthy and peaceful Holiday Season.
